 RasGas laboratories receive key international, American accreditations
RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) has been re-accredited to the International Standard Organization (ISO) 17025:2005 quality system standard. RasGas' environmental laboratory was awarded the Certificate of Accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). In 2005 RasGas environmental laboratory became the first in Qatar to be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.
"RasGas' re-accreditation to ISO 17025 gives our customers confidence in the quality, competence and integrity of our laboratory testing and calibration services, said Khalid Al Qassem, RasGas Chief Chemist. This achievement ensures that RasGas customers will continue to receive the benefit of reliable and consistent laboratory analysis services."
RasGas Laboratories have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the application of international standards required for the competence of laboratories to carry out testing and calibration, including sampling. ISO accreditation (valid for two years) reduces inefficiencies and puts mechanisms in place for the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and procedures. The laboratories are being re-evaluated periodically by A2LA to ensure their continued compliance with the requirements. The environmental laboratory is also required to participate in external relevant proficiency testing programmes between reassessments to demonstrate their technical competence.
Based in Maryland, USA, the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation is a non-profit, non-governmental public service. It provides world-class services in laboratory accreditation and laboratory-related training. Laboratory accreditation is based on internationally accepted criteria for competence (ISO/IEC 17025:2005). |

 RasGas makes landmark entry into Portugal
RasGas Company Limited has demonstrated once again to be a world-leading energy supplier with its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivery into Portugal.
The spot sale cargo was delivered today to an affiliate of Galp Energia SPGS, S.A., at the Sines LNG Terminal in Portugal, from the LNG tanker Al Deebel.  RasGas supports women and children through Al-Khor’s Qadrat Development Centre
For the third consecutive year, RasGas Company Limited (RasGas), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, is continuing its support of the Al-Khor-based Qadrat Development Centre by donating funds and books to support their initiatives in Qatar.
As part of its annual contribution to the centre, RasGas has donated 400 Arabic and English books suitable for children between 3-12 years, to stimulate their curiosity and inspire them to the power of reading.
