RasGas Charity Fund – Sunduk Al Kheir
Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Managing Director-CEO, hosted his annual Group Family Day at the Al Sharq resort, Doha for employees and their families, and launched a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative - the RasGas Charity Fund - Sunduk Al Kheir.
In beautiful weather and a perfect setting, the day was an opportunity for Al Mohannadi to express his appreciation for his teams hard work and dedication throughout the year.
'The RasGas workforce is made up of people from more than 50 nationalities whose skills, creativity and commitment deliver excellent results, "said Mr Mohannadi. "As I visit our many departments and locations I'm always amazed by their unflagging enthusiasm and can-do spirit. Their efforts have meant a great year for RasGas, for our customers around the world and for Qatar itself. This event also gives us an opportunity to share our success with those less fortunate."
As well as reflecting RasGas' values, the day was an appropriate moment for RasGas to launch a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative - the RasGas Charity Fund.
Cementing the positive relationship that RasGas has with its suppliers, QIT, (Qatar International Tours) a Qatari entertainment contractor, was pleased to donate 10 per cent of their fees for the day's entertainment to support Sunduk Al Kheir, a new RasGas charity fund which helps sick and needy children and adults. The funds raised by this generous support will be donated to the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani Foundation charitable association, a charity nominated by RasGas.
"We're delighted to be a recipient of the RasGas inaugural Sunduk Al Kheir project, says Ayed Bin Dabsan Al Qatani, Director General of the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani Foundation. 'It's a wonderful and innovative corporate social responsibility initiative that will raise awareness among RasGas employees and have a powerful, positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged members of the community." As part of RasGas CSR Payforward scheme, members of the MD Group were invited to donate to a worthy cause any of the shopping vouchers they received as a gift on the day. On this occasion, the donations were shared with office assistants, waiters, drivers, mail distributors and handymen, all of whom play an important part in supporting RasGas staff during the working day. Surplus vouchers were donated to the Sunduk Al Kheir charity fund and were donated to Sheik Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani Foundation for distribution amongst the poor. |
